Police are investigating the shooting death of an Indian-origin man from Newark, N.J., the morning of March 13.
Brunton Bissesar Singh, 55, was on his way to work around 6 a.m. when he was killed in a shooting in the 400 block of Roseville Ave. in Newark. The case is under investigation and no one has been arrested.
Singh is remembered by his family and friends as a kind man who spent hours talking with people in the community, abc7ny reported. A memorial was set up in his honor, the report said.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose issued a joint statement but did not give any information on who and why the killing took place. They said an investigation by the prosecutor’s office’s Major Crimes and Homicide Task Force remains active, NJ.com reported.
