Jalaram Mandir Marks Idol Installation In Renovated Temple

The Shree Jalaram Mandir in Hoffman Estates, Ill. celebrated Murti Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav from July 6 to July 9 after eight years of renovation and expansion of the temple.

The grand celebration was performed to install the idols of divinities. The ‘Murti Pran Pratishtha’ celebration was started with 108 Kundi Shubh Sankalp Yagna followed by Deh Shuddhi Karna Vidhi, Panchang Karma and Shobha Yatra, Vastu Pujan, Snnapam Vidhi and Abhishek, and finally Murti Pran Pratishtha July nine.

The event was celebrated with chanting mantras, shlokas, dancing, singing, and children’s cultural performances. Mahaprasad was served every day after the puja. The event was broadcast live on airwave and was on YouTube.

The event included grand re-opening ceremony for major structural upgrades of the temple and installation of nine deities carved from precious ‘Makrana’ marble stones, along with installation of statue of Shree Jalaram Bapa. Approximately 2,500 devotees attended the event.

The expansion project costing upwards of $3.2 Million was started few years after foundation of the temple. The ‘Pran Pratistha’ ritual ceremony marked the high point of the Pooja and festivity and invocation ritual after this, the deity statues hence forth considered to have infused life into them or considered as consecrated.

This sacrament was performed by 11 high-ranking acharyas who had travelled from different parts of United States.

They were Anantbhai Dixit, the main priest from Toledo Ohio, Jayeshbhai Pandya from Philadelphia, Manishbhai Trivedi from Cleveland Ohio, Janakbhai Joshi from Birmingham, Ala., Yogeshkumar Joshi from Chicago, Mayurbhai Shastriji from Merryville Ind., Kaushikbhai Joshi from Detroit Mich., Rohitbhai Joshi from Chicago, Satishbhai Joshi from Chicago and Jalaram Mandir priest Keyurbhai Sevak and Dharmendrabhai Pandya. The event was performed under the spiritual guidance of Adhyatmanand Swami of Shivannd Ashram from Ahmedabad and Rajendra Prasad Shastri from Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner recognized the July 9 as the “Shree Jalaram Day” in the State. Hoffman Estates Mayor William D. McLeod, Trustee Anna Newell, Trustee Michael Gaeta, Schaumburg Trustee Diane Dunham, Trustee Nimesh Jani, Supervisor Mary Wroblewski, and State Representative Michelle Mussman also attended the event.

People, including sponsors and devotees donated generously. There were 16 ‘main yajmans’ for ‘pran pratishtha, including Jigar and Bhumika Thakkar, Ketu Amin and Komal Patel, Neil and Bindi Vibhakar, Bharat and Panna Barai, Manish and Asmita Patel, Jitendra and Rashmi Patel, Rohit, Jyotsna, Chirag and Samir Patel, Ghanshyam and Trusha Patel, Rajesh and Arti Thakkar, Kalpesh and Deepa Modi, Madhusudan and Nirmala Thakker, Sudhir, Raksha and Sameer Manek, Hiren and Chandani Thakkar, Vitthal and Jaya Patel, Sanjay and Ila Patel and Piyush, Geeta and Soni Chaudhari.

The sponsors for groceries were Jalaram Produce, Deep Foods, Primer Foods, Nirav Foods, Rajshree Groceries, and Tulsi Grocers. Also, many other sponsors donated generously for Mahaprasad including sweets.
