An Indian-American teenager from the borough of Queens in New York City, allegedly purchased a gun with a false ID and threatened to kill city cops with it.

Ranbir Singh Shergill, 18, was charged with crossing state lines to purchase a firearm. The federal complaint filed in a Brooklyn court alleged Shergill put a threatening note on his cell phone with a plan on how he was going to go about killing cops, the New York Post reported. Shergill allegedly bought a fake ID using Bitcoins, and used that to purchase a gun out of state. He was arraigned in a Brooklyn court June 8.

Quoting from court documents, the Post reported the FBI searched Shergill’s home in Richmond Hill and  found a Glock 17 handgun and ammunition. Shergill also allegedly admitted to using a website named Tor, to buy a fake ID for $230 worth of Bitcoins. The fake ID showed him as a 21-year old from Ohio. He also went to Ohio to buy the gun, the report said.

Cops also allegedly found a note on his cell phone where he outlined a plan to carry out the killings.

“Do it during a snowstorm . . . Go from dunkin donuts on van wyck after shooting and killing officers they will be wearing coats. And one will be male other female. Then try to kill other nypd officers . . .” the Post quoted from the alleged note that was contained in the federal complaint to the court.
