Songs, dances, home-made delicacies and entertainment marked Bathukamma celebrations hosted by the Pennsylvania Telangana Association (PTA) at the Upper Merion Area middle school in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Sept. 27.
More than 300 people attended the event which concluded with a grand procession and Bathukamma immersion, a PTA press release said.
Several prominent members of the Indian-American community of Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania attended the event. Trisha Guduru, Miss South Asia International 2014 was the guest of honor.
PTA president Venkat Madipadaga congratulated the guests for celebrating the first Bathukamma after the formation of Telangana state and pledged the group’s continued support to communities living in the Delaware Valley other regions in Pennsylvania and also support the development of Telangana.
The awards for top three Bathukamma’s were given to Meghana and Venu Bathini, Alekhya and Mallik Bolla, and Ramadevi and Raju Kakkerla.
