A Muslim woman of African descent was sworn in as a judge in New York City. She took the oath on the Koran, a video of which was posted on Facebook, giving rise to some anti-Islamic comments.

Carolyn Walker-Diallo, who was elected as a civil judge for the 7th Municipal District in New York City this November, was sworn in Dec. 10, at Brooklyn Borough Hall. She wore a hijab while taking the oath and a video of her swearing-in while placing her left hand on a Koran held by a man, was posted on a Facebook account of one of the attendees, Mohammed Mujumder. Several responses on social media after the video was posted are scathing and critical.

According to New York Daily News, the backlash was so severe that Walker-Daillo’s supporters are concerned for her safety.

“In thinking about this, I believe it is foolish for Muslims to be in positions of authority,” one comment quoted by ChristianNews.net. “It’s just asking for trouble; but there is no point in swearing them in on Bibles, since the Bible means nothing to them. Unfortunately, their holy book tells them it is okay to say and do whatever furthers the cause of Islam.”

There is a precedent of elected officials being sworn in on holy books other than the Bible. For instance, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D- Minnesota, the only Muslim in Congress, swore on the Koran; Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, the only Hindu in Congress, swore on the Gita.

” Swearing on the book that instructs her to kill infidels.

That’s where “multiculti” leads – we end up tolerating a death cult,” one comment posted on Christian News said.

On the Facebook site where the video is posted, a person said, “Wow! Very sad that so many sees no problem with this video. America was founded on The Holy Bible. Our founding fathers thanked God when they arrived. The Holy Bible is where our constitution started. We have removed God from every aspect of the USA. God will not recognize this land. You don’t understand how badly Our Father in Heaven is needed, but you will.”
