Federal authorities believe an Indian man suspected of killing his wife in the back of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Hanovar, Maryland this April, is holed up in New York City.

Last week the FBI ratcheted up the search for Bhadreshkumar Patel, 25, suspected of stabbing his wife Palak to death. An image of Patel was displayed on a video screen at Times Square Nov. 4, with his name writ large, NBC news reported. The sign read, “Wanted by the FBI. Bhadreshkumar Patel Wanted for Murder” with a number to call.

A $20,000 award is being offered by Anne Arundel County police in Maryland, for his capture. Video footage of the rear of the Dunkin Donuts on that fateful night of April 12, has also been released by the FBI. It shows the couple go into the room behind the kitchen with just Patel emerging after a few seconds. He is suspected of having used a large kitchen knife to stab Palak Patel to death. He was spotted in a New Jersey hotel a day after the murder but has not yet been caught. Some newspaper reports say authorities believe Patel’s family may have been trying to help him escape the country, but they seem reasonably certain he has not left the U.S. yet.

Patel is charged on multiple counts, including unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

The FBI’s information sheet on him shows Patel was born in Kantrodi Ta Viramgam in Gujarat on May 15, 1990.
