INOC Celebrates Ambedkar’s 125th Birth Anniversary

The Indian National Overseas Congress, USA (INOC) celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution of India, at an event hosted June 4 at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, New Jersey. Arjun Modhwadia, president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee was the cheif guest for the evening.

INOC General Secretary Harbachan Singh, in welcoming the guests, elaborated on the scholarly achievements of  Ambedkar, who was  posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna in 1990.

INOC President Juned Qazi introduced the chief guest and expressed satisfaction at the confidence and enthusiasm of the Congress party supporters and promised to remain vigilant.

In his address, Modhwadia said packaging and repackaging of Congress policies and programs are not going to win medals for the Modi government. He cautioned the Bharatiya Janata Party against knowingly making false statements on the performance of the Congress government. In his 30 minute address, which was punctuated with applause many times, he convinced the audience that the Indian voter demands accountability and not rhetoric, an INOC press release said.

Harkesh Thakur, Ram Gadula, Mahesh Patil, Bharat Patil and Peter Khotari, also spoke at tghe event.
